The 5.3 is a terrific carbon fiber racquet suitable for a wide range of
players. The 5.3 originally released sold for $140; it was re-released and we are happy to offer them
at a great price. The 5.3 is one of the world's best selling
racquets ever. It offers excellent stability and control
with modest power in a light-weight, comfortable playing frame.
The 5.3 OS suits 3.0-4.0 players with a modest up to a
full swing. This is a "Wilson Hammer" type racquet which
means it is balanced to be a bit head heavy; although the extra head
weight is not particularly noticeable in the 5.3. Players with a
very deep swing may find the OS a bit too powerful. It is maneuverable,
the hammer head weighting is nice for following through the ball, and it
is generally comfortable to use.
The 5.3 MidPlus is a bit different from the OS. It is heavier and a bit more
oriented towards a "players" frame. It is suitable for 3.5 to
5.0 level players; and was used by tennis pro Todd Martin. It is great for
medium to
full base line swings. Its extra weight gives a nice solid feel with
excellent control. It is also maneuverable and gives a nice net volley.
(I like this racquet).
The 5.3 comes with a factory warrenty and a full racquet case.
Compare the 5.3 OS to the Prince Scream. We think either are
terrific racquets.
